Did you know that the average person spends a staggering 90,000 hours of their life at work?
That's more than 10 years dedicated to the pursuit of success, wealth, and power. But what happens when the relentless pursuit of money becomes a never-ending cycle of greed and corruption?
In Michael Winterbottom's satirical black comedy, Greed, we are taken on a wild ride through the glamorous world of fashion mogul Sir Richard McCreadie, played brilliantly by Steve Coogan.
As we delve into the depths of McCreadie's empire, we are left questioning the true cost of his insatiable desire for more.
But fear not, dear readers, for I have a tantalizing alternative ending to this gripping tale that will leave you both satisfied and contemplative.

The new ending
As the final act of Greed unfolds, we find Sir Richard McCreadie, the ruthless billionaire fashion mogul, standing on the deck of his luxurious yacht, surrounded by his entourage. The sun sets on the horizon, casting a golden glow over the scene.
Suddenly, a loud rumble shakes the yacht, causing everyone to lose their balance. Confusion and panic fill the air as the yacht begins to tilt, listing dangerously to one side. It becomes apparent that the yacht is sinking rapidly.
In the chaos, Sir Richard's true character is revealed. Instead of leading his employees and friends to safety, he selfishly fights his way to the lifeboats, leaving everyone else behind. As he reaches the last available lifeboat, he turns to see his former wife, Samantha, struggling to stay afloat in the water.
A moment of realization washes over Sir Richard's face. He hesitates, torn between his survival instinct and a flicker of humanity. In a surprising twist, he dives into the water, swimming towards Samantha.
With great effort, he manages to reach her and pulls her onto a floating piece of debris.
As they cling to their makeshift raft, Sir Richard and Samantha are left alone in the vast ocean. The sinking yacht disappears beneath the waves, taking with it the wealth and opulence that defined Sir Richard's life.
Days turn into weeks as they drift aimlessly, surviving on meager rations and relying on each other for support. Stripped of their material possessions, they are forced to confront their past mistakes and the consequences of their actions.
During their time at sea, Sir Richard and Samantha engage in deep conversations, reflecting on their lives and the pursuit of wealth. They realize that true happiness cannot be found in material possessions but in the connections we forge with others and the impact we have on the world.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, a passing ship spots the stranded couple and rescues them. They are brought back to civilization, forever changed by their harrowing experience.
In the aftermath, Sir Richard renounces his former life of greed and excess. He uses his remaining resources to establish a charitable foundation, dedicated to helping those affected by the exploitative practices of the fashion industry.
Samantha, inspired by their journey, becomes an advocate for workers' rights and fair trade.
